Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
While the answer varies depending on the amount of foot traffic, number of children in the home, pet ownership, and other factors; most homes should have their carpets cleaned at least once a year. However, we typically recommend a cleaning every 6 months. This will ensure that your carpet stays clean and fresh. Additionally, this will keep the total amount of microorganisms reduced. Most carpet is laden with a variety of these organisms as a result of food spillage, dust mites, soil, pollen, and bacteria. By removing these allergens and organisms, your indoor air quality will improve.
We do not leave your carpets soaked, with our high powered truck mount, that runs on a separate Nissan 4 cylinder engine, it sucks up 80%-90% of what we put down, Typically, it takes 2 hours to dry to the touch and to play it safe, we like the 24 hour rule for the carpet padding. So if able try to wait as long as you can to put wood or other items that may pull moisture in from the padding Back on the carpet.
What time will you show up?
Many carpet cleaning companies want customers to commit to a 2-hour window for them to show up (then the actual work begins). However, we give a specific appointment time. We are pretty good at estimating how much time it will take at a home plus travel between appointments. From time to time, we do run into some unusual situations. If we are going to be later than 5 minutes, you will get notified from the technician letting you know his status.
Do you confirm appointments with a phone call or email?
Yes, we Confirm the day before, and will update you within the hour with a great estimate of when we will be there.
Will all spots come out?
It depends on what they are. Most grayish/blackish stains will come out. Unfortunately, anything with a dye will pose a problem. There is no way to remove a dye spot from your carpet without affecting the original dye applied when the rug was manufactured. So, wood stains, food coloring from popsicles, hair dye, some markers, dyes in some candle wax, etc, often can't be removed. In your most heavy traffic areas you may notice the carpet breaking down, after cleaning there will still be a grayish tint due to the fabric breakdown.
The longer grease from shoes, dirt or any foreign substance is on your carpet, the chances of it bonding with the carpet is higher.
Are all carpet and upholstery cleaning solutions about the same?
No. We use TMF Products, purchased out of Virginia Beach VA. Products developed by a carpet cleaner, to ensure it is safe, and provides the result we are looking for. Just like with washing clothing, to remove stains it takes different chemicals for different types of stains or fabrics. The same is true for Carpets and Upholstery. TMF products are what we found to be the most honest, safe and best cleaning product on the market today.
Pro tip: Always know what is being used to clean your carpets. There is no secret formula. If a cleaner does not show you a labeled container for any reason. Do not go with them.
Do you move furniture you are cleaning around?
We move light furniture such as sofas, coffee tables, and chairs in larger rooms such as the living room, dining room, and family room. We do not typically move stereo equipment, big screen TVs, china hutches, pianos, and such larger, or more sensitive objects. In bedrooms, we will not move heavy dressers, if the bed sits high enough we can get under it, with our wand that swivels!
Do I need to leave my house while you are cleaning?
You can stay. You can leave. You can stay and then leave, or leave a key and show up later. You are not required to be there. We only ask you to be there when the Job is complete, or provide us a safe way to lock up your home.
Can I walk on the carpet right after the cleaning has been done?
Yes. However, we recommend you avoid high traffic until the carpet is completely dry. A lot of traffic may prolong dry time. Use caution as wet feet may cause slipping and falling.
Any recommendations before the technician arrives?
It's best to pre-vacuum general debris from the carpets. Our system will suck up the little stuff, but larger pieces get caught in our filters. If you've vacuumed within the last few days, you are OK. Remove any breakable objects from tight corners and tables near stairs. We move light furniture, but we let you handle small things like toys and clothes.
Do you really offer your deodorizer for free?
Yes, and it is a separate solution we use that is an additive to our normal cleaning Solution.
There are black lines around the edges of my carpet. Are they permanent? Those are called soil "filtration lines," which are created by soot from your furnace, and in some cases, candles. Nearly every home has them to some degree. It's possible to remove them, but it's very time consuming. It requires taping the molding with painter's tape, treating the edges with a cleaning solution, working it in, steaming out with a crevice tool attached to our equipment, and repeating the process as many as 6 or 7 times. A single home can easily take 8 hours just working on filtration. This is available at an additional charge and requires a separate appointment. This is not included as part of our whole house special because of the time involved. Typically, when customers want this done, they will arrange to have us work on the high impact areas a set amount of time, maybe 2 or 3 hours.
What makes Pet Treatment different, and cost extra
Pet treatment is a separate solution we spray on carpets or upholstery before we spray the normal cleaning solution. Pet Treatment breaks down the proteins in the pet urine and pet dander. Spray the product all over the room and allow it to soak into the padding for 20 minutes or more. Then we apply the normal Cleaning solution and allow both to soak 15 minutes more, then start the agitation then extraction process. Cat Urine Pet Treatment is a different process that takes much longer, and why it cost more.
Pro Tip: Do not allow Pet urine to sit long. If your Pet uses the same spot it could end up soaking into the wood below the padding. Once it is into the floorboard it is a different process and more expensive to clean.
Once the pet urine treatment is completed, will my pet keep marking that particular place?
The products we use to perform pet urine treatment contain a pet deterrent. However, each pet acts differently, so we cannot guarantee that your pet will stop marking that place we treated.
Is there a travel charge?
No. There is no travel charge. Travel is included in the service (unless you are outside our service area 20 miles within Winston Salem).
How long will it take to clean my carpets?
3 areas take 1 to 1.5 hours. Adding 20 minutes for rooms stairs after that.
What if I want to cancel an appointment?
As long as you give us 24 hours notice, it's no problem
Can I have both my area rugs and the carpet that it sits on cleaned at the same time?
Yes. However, the area rug cannot dry over the wet carpet. After cleaning the area rug must be taken to another area that is dry and clean.
What should I do if the dirt that were cleaned reappears?
If there are ANY issues after the cleaning, please reach out to us.
